EVENT RULES & REGULATIONS

HOTEL RULES

  • Room service will be offered. Guests can order food and refreshments at their convenience. Enjoy this staycation with your family!

  • Travelling between hotel rooms will not be permitted. Please remain with your household/cohort throughout the duration of the event, as safety is our top priority. 

  • Please respect capacity guidelines regarding balcony limitations. Balcony capacity will be listed on the ticketing page.

  • No glassware will be permitted on balconies.

  •  Please do not leave your children unattended in the room or on the balconies by themselves.

  • Please respect social distancing (2 metres) while in hotel common areas (lobby, hallways etc.).

  • Please be respectful of designated check-in and check-out times.

  • A maximum of four (4) people are allowed in the elevator.

  • Standing on balcony chairs will not be permitted. 

  • Please do not throw anything off your balcony into the atrium. 

  • Filming of this event will take place. By entering the hotel property, you are granting the rights to be photographed, recorded, broadcast or published.

  • B DOT DANCE and any other entity affiliated with B DOT DANCE will not take responsibility for damage, theft, loss of Hotel or personal property. Guests will be responsible for their individual hotel room and personal property.

EVENT RULES

 

  • B DOT DANCE is not affiliated with any specific dance studio.

  • Entries will only be accepted by individual dancers and not via studio directors. 

  • There is no limit to specific studio entries - registration is based on a first come first serve basis.

  • Dancers will be required to wear masks on stage with the current COVID-19 restrictions in place. 

  • Dancers will be split into four age divisions:

    • 7-9 Years​ | Sunday, March 28th, 2021

    • 10-12 Years | Monday, March 29th, 2021

    • 13-15 Years | Tuesday, March 30th, 2021

    • 16-18 Years | Wednesday, March 31st, 2021

  • Solo entries only. No duet, trio or group entries will be permitted due to COVID-19 restrictions.

  • There are no specific levels or categories for the event besides the age divisions listed above. Dancers within that age division will perform against other solos in a variety of disciplines. Please note that tap dance and pointe will not be permitted. This is due to the limitations of the stage and the safety of our dancers. We hope to incorporate this at future events. 

    • Disciplines permitted include: Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Acro Dance, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, ​Musical Theatre (no live singing)

  • Dancers are permitted to perform a maximum of two solos. There is a limit of two solos per hotel room. If you have two dancers (siblings) within the same age division they will ​only be permitted one solo each unless you purchase another package/hotel room. This maximum is to keep the event within specific time restrictions. Additional entries can be purchased through the ticketing page. 

 

  • Dancers will be required to submit their music at least two weeks prior to the event (an email with instructions will follow to registered dancers). It is HIGHLY recommended that all dancers have a backup of their music with them at the event (iPhone, iPad, Computer etc.).

  • Each entry will receive a critique/coaching sheet from a certified adjudicator, a medal and a live adjudication. Critique sheets and medals will be delivered contactless to your hotel door. Live adjudication will be delivered from the adjudicator in the atrium with the dancers on their balconies.

  • Dancers must always be ready to perform 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time. B DOT DANCE reserves the right to run 30 minutes ahead of schedule.

  • All entries will perform in the order they are scheduled. If for any reason a number needs to perform out of order, it must be approved by the program director. 

  • Second performances will not be permitted, with the exception of any technical difficulties.

  • All music and routines should be appropriate for a family event.

  • Entries must be no longer than 2 minutes and 45 seconds.   

  • Props will be restricted to small handheld props that can be carried on and off by the dancer. Larger props that require setup/take down will not be permitted. 

  • In the event of a tie for any overall (1st, 2nd, 3rd) award, our adjudicator will select the winning entry at their discretion.

  • B DOT ENTERPRISES INC. reserves the right to change, cancel or substitute dates, locations or schedules for any reason without penalty or compensation. B DOT ENTERPRISES INC. in no event shall be liable for any failure or delay of its obligations arising out of or caused by, directly or indirectly, forces beyond its control, including, without limitation, flood, storm, acts of God, fire, the act or failure to act of any government or regulatory body, public health emergency or pandemic or loss or malfunction of utilities. Event refunds and credits will be evaluated at the discretion of B DOT ENTERPRISES INC. B DOT ENTERPRISES INC. will make every reasonable effort to make sure the event runs as scheduled.

  • Participants in this event agree to assume the risk of personal injury, and agree to hold harmless the owner (B DOT ENTERPRISES INC.), its' employees, and owners of the business, from any and all liability claims, damages, losses or cause of action, which may be incurred by the participant while he/she is on the premises of Delta South Calgary or while using said equipment, or participating in the dance event and which may arise from any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to, any negligence on the part of the owners or its employees.
